Bird News Friday 19th November

Male Ferruginous Duck still at Corbet Lake and a Little Egret at Forkhill Co.Down (Geoff Campbell)

115 Waxwings Ormeau Embankment, Stranmillis, Belfast. (Dave Allen, Dave Suddaby and Clive Mellon)

c.50 Waxwings at Peters Hill, near Belfast City Centre at 9am this morning (Allen Gillespie)

2 Snow Bunting were on Slieve Donard (halfway between the saddle and the summit) (Patrick Lynch)

A Short Eared Owl (we told you Paddy the Octopus was the man!) has been seen on Thomas's Mountain just below Slieve Donard, Newcastle. (Patrick Lynch) Blimey! He's having a day of it - normally if you see anything other than a Meadow Pipit on Slieve Donard you're lucky

Staying on the owl theme - in Co. Tyrone a Long-eared Owl was seen on top of a lamp post in daylight at Dungannon (Charlotte Gilmore)

Big thanks as usual to Geoff Campbell for some swanky shots - here's some Twite from Glenarm earlier on in the week.
