Bird News Monday 22nd November

In Co. Donegal a male Brambling was with a mixed flock of goldfinch and greenfinch on the causeway at Blanket Nook, a Great Northern Diver, 12 Red-throated Diver and 2 Slavonian Grebe,a female Long-tailed Duck and 13 Common Scoter were off Inch Strand, Lough Swilly (David Nixon)
The Ferruginous Duck was still at Corbet Lough Banbridge Co. Down. Also 12 Whooper Swan were present.
50 Waxwing were still opposite Cutters Wharf, Stranmillis.

A female Goosander was at Ballymena ECO's park.

6 Long Tailed Duck were off Fishermans Pier Carrickfergus

In Co. Tyrone a male Hen Harrier, 70 Crossbill and a Woodcock were at Baronscourt.

Also in Donegal a Black-necked Grebe was at Dunfanaghy New Lake, along with two Pink footed Geese. Fanad Head had 100+ Eider, 51 Long-tailed duck and 3 Snow Bunting.

Late News from Saturday:
A possible Great Grey Shrike was reported from Carrick-a-rede, Co. Antrim on Saturday
