If you are reading this message then we might very well be on holiday, perhaps we're looking at an American Coot, perhaps not, who knows?
In fact they are still on holiday! The American Coot is still present on the Mullet. There was a Green-winged Teal at Carrowmore Lake and in Co. Sligo a Lesser Canada Goose was at Lissadell.
In the Ormeau / Stranmillis area of Belfast 160 Waxwings were present
At Strangford Lough Co.Down a Greenland Whitefronted Goose and Slavonian Grebe were at Ann's Point and another 7 Slavonian Grebe at Greyabbey Bay South.
3 Black Throated Diver and a Slavonian Grebe were between Kircubbin and Greyabbey.
At Belfast Lough Co.Antrim a Slavonian Grebe was at Greenisland 8 Egrets were on Lough Foyle Co.Londonderry.In Co. Tyrone this morning 2 male Bullfinches, 2 Goldcrest, a Treecreeper and a Buzzard were at Seslinore Forest (Caroline Gilmore)
A first winter female Surf Scoter was at Mervagh near Donegal Town. In the 1980's and 90's this site was a regular location for Surf Scoters with up to 5 sometimes present. This is the first one there for 6 years.
