Bird News Tuesday 16th October

An inland Great Northern Diver and a Greenshank were at Lower Lough Erne Islands RSPB Reserve this morning. (B.Robson)
More Waxwings again today, we can't get enough of these characters! 16 were at Receview Road, Ballymena Co.Antrim (Richard Hunter)
10 Waxwings were still at Knightsbridge entrance to Lagan Meadows, Stranmillis, Belfast (Bob Shaw,Tom Dingle) 30 were seen here later.

200 Whooper Swan, 250 Lapwing, 1 Buzzard, 1000+Starling were at Corlatt, Newtownbutler Co.Fermanagh

A Snow Bunting was at Sandy Bay, Larne.

A Great Skua, 2 female/immature Long Tailed Ducks and a SlavonianGrebe was off Macedon Point. 3 male Long Tailed Duck off Carrick and a male Long Tailed Duck off Holywood.
Another (or the same?) Great Skua was at Whitehouse Lagoon in Belfast

Here's another great shot of a Barn Owl by Nigel Snell - if we're really nice to him he might tell us where he took these photos, to say Barn Owls are thin on the ground is a bit of an understatement
