70/80 Waxwings were in trees along Derry Road, Glengormley (edge of motorway) today around 3.30pm (Hayley Sherwin)
A male Blackcap was still visiting a garden at Marguerite Close, Newcastle (Jools Crory). And here he is!
....and he's been joined by his Mrs.! A female is also present (pers. comm.)
At Islands Park Newcastle a male Brambling was still present along with 12 Siskin, 6 Redpoll, 10 Goldfinch, 30 Redwing and 4 Fieldfare. Here's a rubbish picture of a Siskin!
A pair of Bullfinch, 4 Little Grebe, 55 Teal and 40 Wigeon were at the Ardilea inlet. 8 Yellowhammers were in a private garden at Ardilea.
At Green Island there were 20 Grey Plover and 2 Red-breasted Merganser
At Keel Pt. there were 69 Brent Geese, 13 Black-tailed Godwit, 12 Goldenye and 4 Bullfinch.
9 Little Grebe and 5 Goldeneye were at the Downshire Bridge, Dundrum.
269 Brent Geese, 4 Goldeneye, 11 Snipe and a Tufted Duck were at the south bay (a Dundrum Inner Bay Mega!)
In Co. Antrim a Waxwing was along the hedgerow nr Cushendall Boat Club
No sign of any Little Egrets for a few days - mind you, it is awfully white out there!
26 Purple Sandpiper, 35 Turnstone and 26 Redshank were at Newcastle Rock Pool.
...and look who's back in my garden. Looks like nobody but him will be getting at those apples today
Uh-oh, look who's turned up now. I reckon that Fieldfare could have met his match. That Robin is a complete psycho-nutter!!
