3 Tree Sparrow and 3 Brambling were at a private garden in Carnlea, Bangor along with a female Blackcap, 2-3 Lesser Redpoll, 6 Redwing. Nearby a garden in Brunswick Road, Bangor has had up to 3 Blackcaps.
A male Brambling was still at Islands Park, Newcastle, along with 40 Redwing, 3 Fieldfare, 9 Siskin and 10 Lesser Redpoll.
2 (possibly 3) Brambling were still visiting a garden in Killough, along with 20 Blackbirds (20 Blackbirds!!! If you saw the size of the garden you'll realize why I put 3 exclamation marks on that.)
The Fieldfare was still bullying everything else in my garden (that's my garden - so therefore I could lay claim to that record....that's me, probably)
A Woodcock, a Bullfinch and 3 Redwing were at Belfast Harbour Reserve (Ronald Surgenor)
3 Woodcock were at Dundonald, Belfast (1 at Dundonald Golf Club and 2 at Stormount).
60 Redwings and 6/8 Mistle Thrushes were at Abbey Home in Newtownards.
In Co. Antrim a Yellowhammer was in Carnfunnock Country Park. 10 Waxwings and 150 Redwing were at the Fortwilliam roundabout along the M2
In Co. Tyrone a Brambling was in a garden in Sion Mills
The male and female Blackcaps are still visiting a garden in Newcastle - thanks to my wife for some really awful photos (I'm gonna get a saucepan round the head when I get home)
12 Fieldfare and 6 Redwing were just south of Clough, Co. Down.
90 Whooper Swan, a Buzzard and 35 Skylark were in fields east of Comber. 28 Skylark and 700 Shelduck were at Islandhill.
Balloo Wetland had 8 Teal, a Snipe and Buzzard (and for those interested 3 Moorhens)
To save the day here's a few more from Allen Gillespie - some Redpolls and Goldfinches taken a couple of days ago. Why don't any of my pictures turn out like that. Answers on a postcard to Derek's house
Lies Lies lIes!...from Tunisia:
"A quick trip down to the market got me the 12,500 fags that pays for the holiday, stick them in the extra suitcase and the rest in Denis's without him knowing and all I have to do is drop them off at Big Jimmy's. After a quick dip in the pool there's nothing for it but an extensive meat-filled lunch. On the menu today....25 Hoopoe Lark, 10 Desert Lark, 2 Bar-tailed Lark, 30 Short-toed Lark, 30 Temminck's Horned Lark, 8 Thick-billed Lark, 1 Long-legged Buzzard, 20 Desert Wheatear and 2 Red-rumped Wheatear). Absolutely stuffed, definitely not one for vegetarians."
Of course, he's lying. Nobody could eat that much in one day. Mind you there can't be much eating on a lark. Can't imagine Long-legged Buzzard would taste nice. It mus be the fever setting in. All vodka and no gulls makes Derek a psycho-boy.
