Bird News Monday 24th January

The 1st winter male Ring-necked Duck was still present at Lough Money near Downpatrick. 6 Stock Doves were in fields on the eastern side of the lough.

One of the redhead Smew was between the two car parks at the Quoile River.

The male Ferruginous Duck was at Lurgan Park Lake (photo later)

12 Slavonian Grebe and 2 CarrionCrow were around Greyabbey Strangford Lough.
20 Waxwing and a Carion Crow were at Groomsport

A Waxwing and 2 Brambling were in Lisburn. (W/Veale!)

Male and female Blackcaps were at the Quoile Centre, alas no Bramblings. (all David Nixon and Ian Jackson)
