Bird News Wednesday 19th January

There are now 5 Goosanders at Lough Island Reavy, Castlewellan. One male and four females are present on the reservoir. (Dan Bailie)

The male Ferruginous Duck was at Lurgan Park Lake. (some News Services which cost you 10p to find out are saying there could be 2 but this has yet to be confirmed, why don't they confirm it before tellin us. Lets hope its not another Black Duck scenario!)

1st winter Meditterean Gull at Ballycarry Bridge and adult at Whitehead.

1 Brambling at Killough and 5 Waxwing at Bangor

Thanks to Gavin Rossdale for these great gull shots (am I really saying that?!). He isn't half good with the camera that boy by the looks of it!
