Bird News Thursday 21st April

Photograph of the mystery warbler at Craigavon, identification still uncertain. You really should go and listen to it!

In Co.Armagh
A Common Sandpiper was at Craigavon North Lake and 2 Common Tern were at Oxford Island (Dave Allen)

The mystery singing Warbler was still at Craigavon North Lake.

In Co. Down:
20 Ringed Plover, 67 Golden Plover and a Reed Bunting were at Ballymacormick Pt. along with Shelduck, Oystercatcher and Dunlin (Nigel Snell)

In Co.Antrim
A female Peregrine Falcon was in flight at Mallusk.

In England near Preston.
Ally T started the day off with not one but two soaring Red Kites near Preston. She then went for lunch and had not one but four glass's of Red Wine. She then outdone the Hadricks and found an off-licence that sold Strong Cider so what else could she do but buy a 2 litle bottle of the stuff that blows your head off. The afternoon was sorted. Rather worryingly she said that she photographed a Toad in a pond that she passed out near!

She woke up this morning and found that she had bought a train ticket to Blackpool so the intention is another visit to the off-linence and then off to Blackpool to do some seawatching.

Late News from Yesterday:
In Co. Armagh:
2 Grasshopper Warbler and 4 Great Crested Grebe were at Seagahan Dam (Neil McCartney) Thanks to Neil for these Chaffinch photos

Look at the things people throw away!!!!

I managed to 'acquire' this bag of goodies out of the recycling bins of an un-named Spar somewhere in Co. Down. Happy chickens for the next few days!

This week's Mourne Observer highlight:
The picture of Liam McLough and his son Liam admiring their field. Classic stuff.
