Bird News Friday 22nd April

In Co. Armagh:
A Swift and a Raven were over Richhill (Andrew Poots) Thanks to Andrew for this Goldfinch photo!



In Co. Down:
At Belfast RSPB: 1 Greenshank. At least 6 Sedge Warblers in the reeds to the left of the Obsevation Room.

50plus Black Headed Gulls were on the right hand Tern island would seem to guarantee a serious row - when the Terns come back. The cc camera on the island may be converted to Pay Per View when that happens! Rumour has it that WWE has agreed to stage a 'Seven Bells on the Shells' event (Brian Douglas)

In Co. Antrim:
10 White Wagtail, 3 Common Sandpiper, 4 Whimbrel, 3 Grasshopper Warbler, 7 Sedge Warbler, 41 Wheatear, a Whitethroat, 12 Twite, a Pink-footed Goose and a Greenland White-fronted Goose were on Rathlin Island

Went for a scenic drive through the mountains (20 mins from Villa) STOP -excellent views of 3 Egyptian Vulture STOP On towards the coast - loads of Trumpeter Finches, Berties Pipit, Lesser Short-toed Lark and (again) Hoopoe everywhere STOP Early morning no good for Sandgrouse and Barbary Partridge - looks like we'll have to stay up some night and try and stay off the booze STOP Even better - found another fantastic Bakery in Antigua, buns to die for STOP Yes, we are still on Fuerteventura STOP
