Bird News Monday 25th April

In Co. Londonderry:
A drake Green-winged Teal was at Mullagh, Lough Beg with a dozen Teal. The summer plumaged Spotted Redshank, 2 Pink-footed Goose, 15 Wheatear and 24 White Wagtail were also present (David Steele)

In County Down
The 2cy male Ring Necked Duck was still at Castleward. A Little Gull and 2 Little Egret were at the Qouile Pondage

In County Fermanagh
4 Garden Warbler were at Crom Estate


In Co. Tyrone:
A Goshawk and a male Hen Harrier were at Mullaghfad Forest


In Co. Armagh:
3 Grasshopper Warbler and 6 Whitethroat were at Peatlands Park (Ed.O'Hara, G. Armstrong, C. McQuillan and M. Killops)

7 White Wagtail were at Oxford Island. Thanks to Ed for these pictures. In the afternoon 4 Swifts were seen (John Edwards)



In Co. Antrim:
A Garganey was at Portmore Lough RSPB (Ed.O'Hara, Garry Armstrong)

In the Antrim Hills a male Merlin, 5 Buzzard and a bucket of Wheatears were seen.
A Jay was seen at Antrim Civic Centre (Mark Smyth)

Thanks to Brian Douglas for this stunning picture of a stunned Sedge Warbler that flew into a window at Oxford Island plus a pic of a Swallow (plenty of flies = plenty swallows!)
