Bird News over the weekend

In Co.Donegal: The stunning news was the finding of a SNOWY OWL on the Pettigo Plateau. The bird is on private land with no access (Pete McGroary et al)
The Bittern and male Smew continue to be seen at Inch Lake.

In Co.Londonderry: Two 1st winter Iceland Gulls and a 2nd winter Meditterean Gull were at the Bann Estuary

In Co.Antrim: 2 Long Tailed Duck were off Glynn Larne Lough and 3 were also off Carrickfergus (Neal Warnock)
An adult Meditteran Gull was off Carnfunnock.The adult Meditteran Gull was still at Whiteabbey, Belfast Lough
2 Waxwing were in Lisburn

In Co.Armagh: Those naughty Nobirders are at it again! They are really naughty and perhaps should get out more! The Red Crested Pochard at Oxford Island is not a returning bird! It never went away! It summered along the Reedy Flat / Ardmore area and is a DEFINATE escape!
Once again a hybrid Lesser Scaup type was in Kinnegoe Bay yesterday afternoon.
A Pinkfooted Goose was at Ardmore Point
6 Brambling were at Richill (Andrew Poots)

In Co.Louth: The Richards Pipit was present at Templetwon Beach on Saturday at least.It was a welcome tick for some elow listers!
