In Co.Down: After 2 years of non stop Moth Trapping Andrew has finally found a decent bird! A Great Spotted Woodpecker was seen near Crossgar by Andrew. Andrew has high hopes for an Upland Sandpiper this autumn, lets hope it turns up in one of his 52 moth traps around Murlough! Andrew doesnt hold out much hope for finding a Green Woodpecker he thinks the Nobirds / Flapline report was a complete load of bo**%%%s or words to that effect.
A few snaps of the Little Gulls at Lady Bay!
Bird News: The male Ring Necked Duck was back at Oxford Island, still looking very odd!
But the big news by Flapline was yet another Green Woodpecker at Craigavad!!!! Those Nobirders they are class. It hasn't appeared on their blog, very strange? Perhaps its just the normal power struggle!! Certainly helps the case for the Scrawny Owl blown in those easterly winds, i wonder are there Green Woodpeckers on the Isle of Man?
Thanks to Ronald Surgenor for these two photos

In Co.Armagh: The highlight from the weekend was the male Yellow Wagtail singing at McKews Cabragh Mushroom Plant near Tandragee on Friday and Saturday
A male Ring Necked Duck was at Kinnegoe Bay Oxford Island. I sauntered down myself last night after Majella made me wash both cars!, and this bird is extremely odd, one side of its flanks is dark grey and the other a light grey. The bill pattern is unusual as well as there is only a pale white line around the edge. Why this is i dont know, maybe its in moult but it had no obvious signs of this
In Co.Down: An adult Meditterean Gull and 5 Storm Petrel were off Ballyquintin Point, Outer Ards (Keith Bennett)
