Glaucous Gulls

Northern Ireland continues to be in the middle of a bird drought bar the Glossy Ibis at Toome, its a good un! Beyond that nothing the only other exciting birding event is the 9 (yes 9!) Short Eared Owls at Strangford Lough. Not a good seagull, not even a Ring Necked Duck or even a Snow Bunting, he he yes I did forget about the Nobirds Montagues Harrier, you can always rely on them to spice things up and for a picture of a Buzzard, what a superb role they play. Yo0u cant have too many Glaucous Gull photos on a blog, that's what Jimmy Nesbitt once told me and what is all the hype about McGregor? Don't get it.

More bloody seagull photos but its the easiest way to get them onto an icloud, whatever that is! How an ipad knows that ive posted pictures on Blogger is simply mind boggling a bit like why do the Nobirds lads keep going! It might be easier to figure out the icloud thing! Three blogs? I can hardly believe it myself, mind bloggling simply mind boggling! Nowhere on any of the blogs does it say have the wise men accepted the Belfast Baikal Teal? or even the Fermanagh Baikal Teal, if there are any feathers left on that bird they should send them away and get a wig made out of them and give it to the winner of the annual "who is the best Nobirder of the year?" Larry always wins because its a secret ballot and he collects the ballots, a few of the McGarrys think he rigs it but they are too scared to say anything, looked what happened to the last person who peeped up a certain Mr Crory! Larry is the proud owner of a yellow bandana made out of bananas, a telescope made out of loo roll and the bottom of a coke bottle and an iron made out of pure iron that was stolen out of the Titanic. He also has the keys to the piggy bank where they keep all the £10 notes, must be £10,000 in fat piggy now, where has all the money gone?

Moth of the Week

Pale Brindled Beauty....the ONLY moth of the last week!

2014 Bird Report

Anyone who wants the 2014 Northern Ireland Bird Report please pollute Andrew. The one thing we can be sure off is that it is not as good as the Nobirds 2014 Bird Report because lets face it how could it ever be with all those McGarrys beavering away to tell us what has been seen bird wise in Northern Ireland in 2014. We look forward to the Steppe Buzzard expose and lets hope there is a Black Redstart photo or two in, I  am starting to quiver already! The Nobirds American Golden Plover fiasco at Myroe should be worth getting up in the middle of the night for but you will have to remember while reading it never be more than ten feet from a public lavatory. They are releasing it at Virgin Megastore in Belfast on the 1st April and it will cover the years 2009 - 2014 or something like that and they are going to open yet another Blog to publicise it, they will probably issue a few Fatwahs at the same time, watch out anyone who doesn't report Greenshanks and Merlins to them, you have been warned. I have heard the Fatwha Blog is at an advanced stage
In all seriousness do contact Andrew for the 2014 Bird Report, its brilliant especially the Map on the last page. Some photos of the Whiteabbey Iceland Gull, we have interviewed it for the 2016 report, it is actually a clever seagull

Turkeys voting for Christmas

We have been leaving those Nobirds boys alone for a year or two now but looking at tourblog the other day I couldn't help but smile when I looked at the Poll Are the Nobirds Lads Crop? Ten people have voted they are not and I started to think who are these ten people, should we build another wing onto Hollywell Hospital to accommodate these lunatics. On further reflection I thought the only people who doesn't think the Nobirds are crop are the Nobirds lads and then the penny dropped. Four members of the records committee, 3 on the non existent NIBA Committee and four on the NIBirds Blog Team and hey presto ten!! To be fair to them they are like the Shinners they mobilised their vote to the maximum.
Nobirds now unbelievably have three shite blogs on the go, not content with one load of nonsense they now have three!! Did anyone go for the Nobirds Montagues Harrier the other day, we hope you did, why do they report these things? Three Blogs but no Bird Reports as yet, eight years and counting, a job well done I think
Here are some young Iceland Gull photos from the last week or twop
